Readers Are Leaders

Success Tips & Suggestions

As you can probably already tell, I am a huge fan of books. I always tell my 4 year old son that the most important thing he can do in life is read. But, outside of telling him so, it’s important that I lead by example.

After all, what good is telling my son such a thing if I’m not a reader myself? And, I do love learning new things about the world around me, and about myself, and what better way is there than reading books?

Anyhow, in this week’s edition of The Tuesday Tip I thought I’d offer you some of the best books I’ve read over the years.

I’ll leave biographies and books on specific business topics out of this list. However, I highly recommend that you read both types of books. For example, being an entrepreneur, I’ve read books by Bill Gates, Martha Stewart and Donald Trump to name just a few.

And, I’m heavily involved with business and marketing and read lots of books on those topics. However, for this recommended reading list I’ll include only books which will help you to grow as a person regardless of your specific areas of interest. And, I couldn’t possibly include every title here so this is only a partial list of my favorites.

“Feelings Buried Alive Never Die…” by Karol K. Truman

“The Richest Man In Babylon” by George S. Clason

“Think And Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill

“The Go-Giver” by Bob Burg and John David Mann

“Leadership Secrets of Atila The Hun” by Wess Roberts

“Giant Steps” by Anthony Robbins

“Unlimited Power” by Anthony Robbins

“The 5 Secrets You Must Discover Before You Die” by John Izzo

Again, this is just a partial list of some of the books I’ve read which have a major impact on me.

I would love to hear about some of your favorites. If you have a minute, why don’t you email me via the contact tab above and tell me about some of your favorite books. I’m always open to great book suggestions.

And, be sure to visit the personal and professional development library I’ve placed here on my blog. You’ll find over 100 books in the library and they’re all yours 100% free. Just click the tab above.

Generating MLM Leads Is One Thing While Successfully Sponsoring Is Another

Network Marketing

There is no shortage of terrific training materials today to teach a person how to generate network marketing MLM leads. One very important aspect though of how to generate network marketing leads is frequently left out.

Even if you are effectively generating leads for your home based business, unless you know what to actually do with those leads then you will struggle.

You see, simply generating leads does not necessarily equal network marketing success. Here’s the thing you need to know about succeeding in network marketing; the most leads will not win the race. knowing what to do with those leads will.

In just a moment I will show you exactly what I mean.

Firstly, understand that your primary goal in how to succeed in a network marketing MLM business is to build people. As Michael Dlouhy would say: Build people and People will build your business.

What this statement tells you is how to succeed in network marketing requires that you sponsor, work with and train others to build a successful business of their own. When you help others to achieve what they want in MLM then there is no question you will achieve what you want in the process.

Here’s the rub; you’ll be investing a great deal of your time and energy into working with others. And people, by their very nature, would love to take up as much of your time as you’re willing to give them. So the question you need to answer for yourself is; will you be investing your time into those most worthy of it?

As a home based entrepreneur the most valuable asset you have is your time. Waste it on sponsoring tire kickers and you’re doomed to failure.

Invest it wisely on sponsoring serious business builders and you’re destined for success.

If you are not sponsoring the right people into your business you’ll be squandering a great deal of your most valuable asset.

If there’s any one thing I’ve learned about working with others on how to succeed in MLM is if they do not have the desire to help themselves then nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing I could ever do would help them. In other words, you can only help those who are ready to help themselves.

As a network marketing professional I know that you’re eager to help others to become successful. But, you cannot push people into success, you can only help to pull them there.

The distinction between trying to push someone toward success versus helping to pull them there is critical. Consider the following example.

Picture sitting on a table in front of you is a 12 inch piece of string. Grab hold of one end of the string and pull it. What happens? The string will smoothly flow in the direction it is being pulled.

Now, same scenario, but this time instead of pulling the string try to push it. What happens? The string gets all bunched up and goes nowhere as you’re forcing it to “move against its will”.

And so it is with the people you’ll be working with in network marketing. You can provide a person with all the tools and assistance in the word. But, if they lack the desire to learn how to succeed in MLM, for you it will be just like trying to push, rather than pull, a piece of string.

Discover the secrets to attracting the right people into your MLM business. You can gain immediate access to a wealth of terrific, free MLM success tools and resources. I’ve written several network marketing success reports and produced a video training series which you can download right now. Word power How to improve your word power

Success Tips & Suggestions

In this high tech world in which we live, communications are frequently conducted virtually. The tools we have at our disposal such as email, blogs, texting and yes, even the fax machine, enable us to communicate with people the world over with great ease.

All of these technically advanced methods of communication are still driven by the words we use. The words that you use and how you use them say a lot about the type of person you are. And rightly or wrongly, people do judge you on your use of words.

The words which flow from your mind be them written or spoken tell others immediately whether or not you are somebody they would want to, or should, listen to.

The use of a rich vocabulary let’s others know that you’re confident; it will cause others to take pause and pay attention to what you have to say. Additionally, the use of a rich vocabulary will enable you to convey your thoughts precisely and concisely.

Please note that I’m stressing the importance of having a rich vocabulary not a big one. There is nothing particularly virtuous about having a big vocabulary whereas there is every virtuous about having a rich vocabulary.

What’s the difference between the two?

A big vocabulary is dropping complex words throughout your written and verbal communications in an attempt to impress others. A rich vocabulary is coming across to others as articulate through the use of appropriate and carefully chosen words. There is a huge difference between these two.

Never underestimate the power of a rich vocabulary.

There are a number of things you can do to help you enhance your word power. One of my personal favorites is Word of the Day from Dictionary.com. It’s free and once you sign up you’ll receive a new word to your email inbox every day.

What I like to do is keep my Word of the Day email open and reference it from time to time throughout the day. By doing so, at the end of the day I would’ve added a new word to my vocabulary. It’s fun, easy and very beneficial.

Go ahead and try it out, I know you’ll love it. Just go and visit http://www.Dictionary.com and you’ll see the sign up box on the right hand side of the page.

You will only live this life once do it right

Success Tips & Suggestions

This is a very important post so please take a few minutes to read it through to the end.

A very good friend’s father passed away last week, the wake was on Monday. I will refer to him in this post as Mr. P.

Throughout the funeral home there were about 15 photo collages set up which showed Mr. P surrounded by his family and friends. It was abundantly apparent that the man lived a loving and very fulfilling life. He was loved and adored by all those knew him…especially his family.

Why am I telling you this? Well, amongst all of the photographs on display at the funeral home there was one collage of the thank you letters and testimonials Mr. P had received from his clientele over the years.

Mr. P was a landscaping contractor (his youngest son now carries on with the business). I stood there for at least a half an hour reading thank you note after thank you note that Mr. P had received from his many happy clients. It was plain as day that Mr. P loved his work, took pride in it and always delivered over and above the expectations of those who hired him.

One additional thing I took note of was the massive number of people who filtered through the funeral home to say goodbye to him. At one point the line of those who came to say goodbye to Mr. P wrapped around the block.

I’ve always been aware of the importance of living a life of service to others; of delivering value and delivering more than what’s expected of you. But this concept is easily lost on us as we go through our lives from day to day. Seeing the admiration of Mr. P after his passing – from his loved ones, friends and clients – really underscored this for me.

Anyhow, Mr. P’s career enabled him to live a life not many get to enjoy. He had a beautiful home in the NYC suburbs and a beach house on the New Jersey shore. I know that Mr. P didn’t want for anything. The great life he lived stands as a testament to his passion for his work and for those around him.

I do not want this message to be too long but I do want to say one last thing; sadly, so many people actually have a negative net worth by the time they hit age 65. Please – PLEASE – do not let that be you. We all only have one shot at being on this planet.

You can spend your life any way that you choose but you can only spend it once.

My calling is to help and work with others who want more from life. If there is anything I can do for you, to help you to get the most from this lifetime you’ve been given, please do not hesitate to let me know.

And, as always, I wish you a great deal of peace and prosperity in your life.

LIFE on the Discovery Channel narrated by Oprah

Success Tips & Suggestions
Life o nthe Discovery Channel with Oprah Winfrey

A phenomenal series

Have you seen the series “Life” on the Discovery Channel being narrated by Oprah Winfrey? It’s an absolutely fascinating series about the animal kingdom.

I was watching one of the episodes the other day with my son when Oprah had said something which really struck a chord with me. She made a comment that much of the animal kingdom is engaged in a daily struggle to maintain survival.

What really struck me is that what she said is also true for most of humanity. Much of the human race is engaged in a day to day struggle just to maintain survival too. Isn’t that so sad? The question I have is why?

Why would anybody settle for a life of struggle? Struggle is a conscious choice just as much as success is a choice.

What separates the animal kingdom form humanity is that human beings have the ability and the opportunity to improve their existence. The resources to do so are readily available and the only force strong enough to keep you from improving your existence is yourself.

People have the ability to make something which the animal kingdom cannot make. Most of the animal kingdom has no choice but to struggle for survival. But, when people make this certain thing they are thrusting themselves into a life of struggle by choice.

This “thing’ I speak of are excuses; “I’m too old.” “I don’t have the time to make things better for myself.” “I’m not smart enough.” You get the point.

One other interesting point to note; go ahead and tally all of the creatures which make up the entire animal kingdom. If you were to count every species of land animal, fish, bird and insect you’ll have a number deep into the millions. Whatever that number might be it is finite. The excuses that a person is capable of telling themselves, on the other hand, is infinite. There is no limit to the excuses people use to keep themselves mired in struggle.

So take a good look at your life. Is it a life of fulfillment or a life of struggle? If yours is a life of struggle, why? Wouldn’t you rather live a life of fulfillment? Because you can, the choice is entirely yours.

End the struggle today. Click on the “Free Stuff” tab above where I’ve posted a library of well over 100 free personal and professional development eBooks and resources.

And, download my free home based business success report today – it could very well be the beginning of the end of your struggle for existence.

The Priceless Value of Other People’s Experience

Success Tips & Suggestions

It’s been said that experience is life’s best teacher. I say that just aint so.

Yes, your own experience is invaluable BUT, the greatest teacher in life is other people’s experience.

Think about why you attend seminars. Ask yourself why you read biographies and autobiographies. And why did you even go to college? You have done, or are currently doing, all of these things in order to learn from other people’s experience, yes?

Let’s say you want to start a business. You know that in order to get the business up off the ground it would be a good idea to send a mailing out to a targeted, select group of good potential clients. If even one person from the mailing becomes a client it will mean a lot to your new business so you really need to get it right.

So how would you proceed? Would you throw together an ad or sales letter, get it out there then hope for something good to happen? Or, would you perhaps invest some time and money into learning how to write persuasive sales copy from an established authority on the topic?

The point is, not only will learning from other people’s experience teach you the best way to do something, it will also help you to save a ton of lost time and money in stumbling along trying to learn things on your own.

Discover the value and powerful potential of learning from Other People’s Experience

Have you ever heard somebody say something like, “that’s when a light bulb went on in my head”? Or they might say something like, “when I read that quote I had an ah-ha moment”. I’m sure you’ve even had those types of moments yourself, right? Those “ah-ha” and “light bulb” moments are always the result of hearing something based on somebody else’s experience.

Let’s say you buy a book for $29.95 and in that book you come across an idea which helps you to advance your life or your business to the next level. Was that book worth every penny? Wouldn’t it even be safe to say that the book was actually worth a whole lot more than what you paid? I would say so.

Don’t ever be afraid to invest in other people’s experience. Their experience will become your experiences and that, my friend, is priceless.

I’ve produced an interview series where I’ve grilled 11 of today’s top authorities on a wide variety of success topics. The entire series is being made available in both audio format and as written transcripts. For what you’d pay for a few movie tickets and a large tub of popcorn, this entire series, and a slew of great bonus items, can be yours. And, I’m offering all of this to you with a lifetime, money back guarantee.

The 2 Things You Must Know About How To Succeed In Home Business

Network Marketing

The term “home based business ideas” is a very extensively searched, long tail keyword on Google today. The reason for this should be obvious. People by the thousands are entering the work at home market in response to a sluggish economy and a stagnant job market.

But here’s the thing about the people who will get involved with home based business opportunities; most of them are going to fail. As sad as this sounds, it’s reality. But – and this is a really big but – it just does not have to be that way.

Let’s first address the reason why most people will fail when getting involved in a work at home opportunity, then we’ll look at what is required to make sure that you are not one of them.

Simply put, the number one reason why those who jump into the home business game fail is because they lack practical business skills. It’s the truth. Most people enter into a home business from the background of having been an employee. Entrepreneurs succeed at building businesses whereas employees do not. So anybody entering into their own business who is not thinking like an entrepreneur is doomed.

You see here’s the reason why: employees seek the comfort and safety of having a boss and a job. They bring a trade-dollars-for-hours mentality into a home business and find they are not prepared for entrepreneurial success.

And before we go any further, understand that in today’s world there is no longer safety and security in having a job anyway. I think today’s double digit unemployment rate is proof enough of this. In other words, even basic survival in today’s world requires a new mindset; the mindset of an entrepreneur.

Understand that entrepreneurs are made they are not born. Nobody was born a successful home business owner. What this means is you can succeed in your own business provided you prepare to succeed. If you’re hoping to somehow succeed by accident then I would urge you to get ready for a long, hard, fruitless journey.

The second biggest reason most people will fail in their own home business is due to blind faith. Let me explain what I mean.

All too often people get involved in one home business or the other because they were convinced by somebody else to get on board. It’s a classic case of the blind leading the blind. Just because your friend talks you into starting your own business does not mean they’ll be able to help you succeed.

Here, this goofy video I’d created will help you to see this very important point:

Rather than allowing yourself to be convinced by somebody else that their business opportunity is right for you, wouldn’t it be a better idea to team up with a real business partner?

What I can tell you is you can improve your potential for home based business success by aligning yourself with the right business partner. Rather than being convinced of starting a business by a friend, why not actively seek out somebody with a proven track record who can help you to succeed?

Furthermore, who’s to say your friend’s new business is right for you? They may have started a business based on their own criteria but is their criteria right for you?

To recap, there are two things you can do, up front, to ensure success in your work at home business. First is to prepare yourself for entrepreneurial success through developing good business skills. Second is to align yourself with the right business partner. Somebody who can provide you with the help you’ll need to succeed as a work from home entrepreneur.
